Where Water Flows Uphill
Inspired by the local Cache le Poudre river, Where Water Flows Uphill is an immersive installation in Greeley Colorado, located within the citi’s downtown library and innovation center (LINC), it is intended to be a curiosity primer and invitation for visitors. As you explore the experience, the artwork places you within your own hero’s journey as you connect with the 12 character archetypes along the way. Deep with rich visuals and poetry, the project features an original fictional water language (Aqua Lingua) inspired by the metaphorical depths and linguistic overlaps of the human experience and water. Additionally, if you explore far enough into the installation you’ll find a domed film room that features a 3 screen immersive feature-length art, nature, and dance film (Ryan Shoemaker) with original music (JR Bishop) as well as many interactive/sensing light sculptures (Phil Van Drunen), and last but not least and certainly not the final special element of the installation, there is a 25’ tall Sun Silo net labyrinth that you can explore in full bodied retelling of the story of Icarus.
